EV2 offers up to 448 km WLTP range
(384 km EPA) with two battery options
Compact design includes sliding seats, 403L cargo, front trunk
Production begins Q1 2026; GT-Line and long-range variants follow
Kia has unveiled the EV2, a new compact electric SUV, at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. Positioned as the brand’s most accessible and affordable EV, the EV2 is designed for urban environments and new EV customers. It offers a driving range of up to 448 kilometres under the WLTP standard, or 384 km EPA.

Built on the E-GMP platform, the EV2 becomes Kia’s sixth dedicated electric model. Measuring 4,060 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, the EV2 adopts a B-segment SUV format like the Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona. Despite its compact size, the model offers interior dimensions and flexibility typically found in larger vehicles, including plenty of rear legroom and 403 litres of cargo space with the rear seats adjusted.
The EV2’s interior is based on a design concept Kia calls the “Picnic Box,” featuring wraparound horizontal surfaces, fabric-rich materials, and ambient lighting. A digital display setup integrates a 12.3-inch cluster, 5-inch climate control panel, and 12.3-inch infotainment system. Storage features include a flexible lower console, sliding second-row seats, and a front trunk.

Two battery options are available: a 42.2 kWh unit providing up to 317 km of range (271 km EPA), and a 61.0 kWh pack offering up to 448 km, both WLTP-rated. Fast charging from 10 to 80 % is achievable in approximately 29 minutes for the standard model and 30 minutes for the long-range version. AC charging is supported at 11 kW and 22 kW.
The EV2 includes multiple advanced driver assistance and safety systems. These include Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0 (FCA 2.0), Lane Keeping Assist 2 (LKA 2), and Hands-on Detection (HoD). Visibility is excellent thanks to narrow A-pillar width and lower rear window.

The vehicle supports bidirectional charging through Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) systems. Other convenience features include a Digital Key 2.0, wireless over-the-air updates, the Kia AI Assistant, and Pet Mode, which maintains cabin comfort when parked.
Kia also revealed the EV2 GT-Line variant, which features distinct exterior styling elements, including model-exclusive bumpers, body-coloured trim, and dedicated wheels.

In addition to the EV2, Kia introduced three new performance-oriented electric models at the show: the EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT, and EV5 GT. Each model features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 215 kW (288 hp), GT-specific chassis tuning, and electronically controlled suspension.
Production of the EV2 is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026, starting with the standard-range model. The long-range and GT-Line variants will follow later in the year. The EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT, and EV5 GT are expected to enter production in the second half of 2026.
