Kia has revealed the K4 hatchback for the European market, complete with a unique design, expanded technology features, and multiple powertrain options. Positioned between the C- and D-segments (compact and midsize), the model introduces a versatile platform aimed at consumers seeking both connectivity and cabin space.
The K4 measures 4,440 millimetres in length and 1,850 millimetres in width (Civic hatchback: 4,547 and 1,801 respectively). Inside, rear passengers benefit from 964 millimetres of legroom and 973 millimetres of headroom. The rear cargo area offers 438 litres (Civic: 694 litres) of storage space, though conflicting information reveals up to 628 litres of cargo space behind the second row.
Design elements follow Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, with a floating roofline and Star Map Signature Lighting inspired by the EV9. Hidden rear door handles integrated into the C-pillar and the Sparkling Yellow exterior finish add to the model’s visual identity. A GT-Line trim adds gloss black accents, 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters, and a three-spoke steering wheel.
The K4 will be available with five powertrain options in Europe, including two electrified variants. The entry-level engine is a 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol unit producing 115 PS (113 hp), available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a mild-hybrid system paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
A 1.6-litre T-GDI engine offers 150 or 180 PS (148 or 178 hp) and comes standard with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A full hybrid version is scheduled for release in 2026.
The K4 features a panoramic digital display setup that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate control display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Kia’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit integrates vehicle controls, multimedia, and navigation into a single system.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all trims, with higher trims offering wireless phone charging. Digital Key 2.0 with ultra-wideband technology allows users to access and start the vehicle via compatible smartphones. Additional features include a Harman Kardon premium audio system, black bio-based artificial leather upholstery, and a built-in AI voice assistant.
Kia Connect services enable over-the-air updates, music streaming, and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality. A complete suite of standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is included in the K4.
