Kia Shows Off K4 Forte Replacement Ahead of NY Reveal

This is the latest small Kia sedan

  • The K4 looks like nothing else from the Korean brand

  • Elegant outside and in for latest Kia sedan

Kia‘s compact sedan is no longer its Forte. The model is now the Kia K4 and the automaker has just released photos of the whole thing ahead of its reveal next week in New York.

It’s no Forte, but this is still a strong-looking effort from Kia. The 2025 Kia K4 blends the brand’s new face—as seen in the latest Niro—with sharp lines, even if the rear panel treatment is a bit awkward-looking.

The car looks like a hatchback, but it is still a sedan with a trunk. Just a sleeker one with a rear door that appears to go on like a long-wheelbase 7 Series. The door handles at the back are hidden in that pillar, along with a lot of glass.

“Every contour, curve and detail of the K4 has been carefully considered and crafted to adhere to Kia’s design philosophy, Opposites United, bringing together clean faceted surfacing and technological details in a bold, cohesive statement. Every aspect further strengthens the relationship between brand and design,” says Karim Habib, Executive Vice President, and head of Kia Global Design.

The cabin is also what we expected to see after the latest Niro. Two large screens are integrated into a single coverless bezel. Kia says the two screens will be more clearly differentiated than in previous cars and that the center screen will be more passenger-oriented.There look to be more buttons than the Niro, and we can’t see Kia’s dual-mode touch bar that alternates between controlling the HVAC and audio. Good riddance.

Kia’s most bold decision in the cabin is the green colour. Adorning everything including the shifter, it certainly stands out. Expect production cars to offer the usual black cabin, but it’s nice to have some options.

Expect more details, including features and what goes under the hood, at the global premiere of the car on March 27th.
