Its debut is expected on August 7th.
This official rendering looks very similar to the concept revealed earlier this year.
The Sonet will stand out with its novel design.
World markets are ready for another small SUV but this one won’t be like all the others. The new Kia Sonet will wow youthful buyers with plenty to see and touch.
The Kia Sonet concept was revealed at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo and the general consensus was that it looked great. It’s no surprise then that the production version, at least judging by the official rendering shared by Kia, will resemble it.
The rendering clearly depicts Kia’s now well-known “tiger nose” grille, with a three-dimensional ‘stepwell’ geometric grille mesh, all integrated into what looks like an otherwise bold front end. Content and technology-wise, the Sonet is expected to offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, a premium audio, and more.
“With the new KIA Sonet, we had the ambition to give this compact SUV a strong and muscular character found only in much larger vehicles. With this in mind, we have designed what we believe is a great SUV with a uniquely sporty attitude, a confident stance and a dynamic silhouette,” said Karim Habib, Senior Vice President and Head of Kia Design Center at Kia Motors Corporation.
He adds: “We also gave the new KIA Sonet an uncompromising attention to detail and a selection of colors and materials that could have only be inspired by the great cultural heritage that our designers found all over India. As a whole, we believe the new KIA Sonet will be a fantastic SUV with a very compelling and attaching character to our young and young at heart, always connected customers in India and beyond…”
