New headlights shown off, set to join expected new engine
Full reveal March 16th
Kia is teasing a refreshed version of the Stinger sedan. The brand’s first sports sedan will have its first major overhaul revealed next week, so it’s time for them to start showing off what it might look like.
It’s a pretty small tease from the Korean automaker, showing just the passenger headlight and a touch of grille. But it’s a much different headlight than the current Stinger offers. This one has what looks to be four jewel-like beams, similar to the jewel-eye headlamps that Lexus uses, though different enough that you won’t likely confuse the two. That’s changed from the more conventional two-beam lights of the existing car.
The accent lights surrounding the main lamp are different as well. The current Stinger has twin L-shape running lights below the main lamp, with turn signal lights below and a marker light to the outside. This new 2022 Stinger lamp assembly features four straight-line accent lights, two on top and two below, with the bottom two appearing to be orange for the signal makers. The outer marker is changed as well, and there is a new bumper cutout for the lower line of the light that curves downward instead of the existing Stinger’s upward curve. From the small glimpse of the grille we can see, it doesn’t appear much changed from the current Stinger, though there are most likely some detail changes. The side cent seems to have some reshaping and detail changes as well, though it’s harder to tell because of the angle.
This refreshed 2022 Kia Stinger is set to be revealed March 16th and is also rumoured to be getting additional power for the 3.3L V6 as well as a new 2.5L turbo-four to give some more beast along with the revised styling.
