Its styling will be inspired by the lovely Inspire concept.
It will be built on Hyundai Group’s new E-GMP electric platform.
Kia and Rimac are working together to make this vehicle an impressive performer.
To read the original story, published by autoexpress, this new crossover from Kia will be something else. This, we suppose, near-luxury electric offering will feature the latest and greatest electric vehicle technology when it arrives sometime in 2021. This flagship crossover will boast a performance version that will go round for round with the Porsche Taycan.
This vehicle will build on Hyundai Group’s new E-GMP dedicated electric platform, the first to do so, and with the help of non-other than Rimac, will deliver performance to match and beat some of the most sophisticated and powerful EVs available today. One way it will do so is by offering 800-volt technology and will work with IONITY’s 350kW fast-charging network.
There are no other specifications available at this time however it is known that the intriguing Kia Imagine Concept, revealed for the first time at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show (remember these?) which was designed by Kia’s Ex Designer Boss, Luc Donkerwolke, will serve as a very direct inspiration for the production model.
Following this vehicle, Kia’s plans involve to launch many more EVs worldwide, from two to eleven models.
