Kia To Showcase Electric Line-up at Monterey with EV9 SUV and Limited-Edition EV6

Kia Unveils Electric Heavyweights at Monterey

  • Kia showcases three-row EV9 SUV and exclusive limited-edition EV6 at The Quail event.

  • EV9 stands as a pioneer for Kia’s global strategy, earning industry-wide recognition.

  • Limited “designer’s choice” EV6 series to feature unique design elements, with details pending reveal.

Kia is gearing up for an electrifying presence at this year’s Monterey Car Week, taking center stage at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering. The South Korean automaker will spotlight its all-new three-row EV9 SUV alongside an exclusive limited-edition EV6.

Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America, emphasized the significance of this showcase. He stated, “After the grand unveiling of the EV6 GT last year at The Quail, Kia is back with the EV9 SUV. This vehicle epitomizes Kia’s legacy in crafting top-tier SUVs, coupled with our profound expertise in electric vehicle evolution.” He added that Kia’s participation in such a prominent event underlines its commitment to relentless innovation in the automotive sector.

Notably, the EV9 is more than just another model in Kia’s lineup. As the brand’s pioneering three-row EV SUV, it serves as the torchbearer of Kia’s global Plan S strategy. It also sets a new benchmark, not just for the brand but for the industry, given its pioneering stature. Meanwhile, the award-winning EV6 continues to bask in its success, earning praise from both customers and major automotive outlets.

In tandem with the design-centric theme of The Quail, Kia is set to launch a “designer’s choice” EV6 edition. This limited series, restricted to a mere 1,000 units, boasts distinct interior and exterior hues. However, specific details and the comprehensive vehicle reveal will be reserved for a grand announcement at the event.

It’s also worth noting that this isn’t Kia’s maiden voyage to The Quail. Last year, the automaker unveiled the robust 576-hp EV6 GT amidst a fleet of global supercars during the annual Monterey Car Week festivity. That move notably cemented Kia’s stature amongst the elite, high-performance auto giants. With this consecutive appearance, Kia looks poised to further bolster its reputation as a leading electric vehicle player.
