Kia Turns Up the Heat in Brussels with GT Unveilings for the EV3, EV4 and EV5

It was no secret that Kia was preparing more performance-oriented versions of its “compact” models. Without fanfare, the South Korean automaker chose to unveil all at once, at the Brussels Auto Show in Belgium, the GT “performance” versions of the EV3, EV4 and EV5.

  • All three are built on the 400-volt E-GMP platform.
  • The EV3 GT gives the model all-wheel drive
  • The EV5 GT will cost more than $65,000

Kia unveiled the next chapter of its GT lineup at the 2026 Brussels Auto Show with the presentation of three new fully electric models: 2027 EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT.

Kia’s latest GT models benefit from dynamic hardware upgrades combined with a comprehensive EV GT ecosystem. This includes exclusive GT drive modes, electronically controlled chassis systems, digital lighting, personalized interfaces, “Kia Upgrades,” and performance-oriented sound profiles. The objective behind these products is to deliver a driving experience that blends performance, everyday comfort and a stronger emotional connection.

According to Soohang Chang, President and CEO of Kia Europe, these new electric GT models demonstrate that electrification can be both engaging and assertive, while combining the instant responsiveness of electric propulsion with a sporty and versatile character.

EV3 GT: Confident performance and all-wheel drive

The EV3 GT brings the GT experience into the compact SUV segment. Its upright proportions and versatile packaging are paired with GT-specific chassis tuning, ensuring stability, control, confidence on the road—and most importantly, all-wheel drive.

2027 Kia EV3 GT

From a design standpoint, the EV3 GT stands out with semi-bucket sport seats inspired by the EV9 GT, neon interior accents, and ambient lighting synchronized with the drive modes. The EV3 GT positions itself as an accessible yet highly engaging entry point into Kia’s electric GT universe.

It relies on an all-wheel-drive setup with two electric motors producing 215 kW (145 kW at the front and 70 kW at the rear), or 292 horsepower, powered by an 81.4-kWh battery. It also features electronically controlled suspension with GT-specific calibration, enhanced cornering stability, and 20-inch wheels fitted with performance-focused tires.

The GT drive mode adjusts power delivery, steering response, suspension settings and vehicle information displays to create a more immersive experience. The EV3 GT is also equipped with Virtual Gear Shift and an active sound design that add a sensory dimension to acceleration and deceleration.

EV4 GT: Hatchback with a sporty edge

The EV4 GT aligns with the “Drive with an Edge” philosophy of the EV4 lineup and targets drivers who favour dynamic driving over the traditional SUV silhouette. The GT version takes this approach even further by emphasizing sportiness and agility. For now, Kia is only talking about the hatchback version, as the EV4 sedan has not yet been shown with this mechanical package.

2027 Kia EV4 Hatchback GT

Built on the same technical foundation as the EV3 GT, the EV4 GT adopts the same all-wheel-drive dual-motor setup delivering 215 kW / 292 horsepower and the same 81.4-kWh battery. Applied to a lower, sportier body with ground-hugging proportions, this configuration gives the EV4 GT a distinct personality while sharpening road feel and driving precision.

Inside, the EV4 GT is distinguished by specific sport seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, bold visual accents, and a digital interface exclusive to GT mode.

EV5 GT: GT performance in the compact SUV segment

The EV5 GT expands Kia’s GT philosophy into the compact SUV segment while preserving the versatility buyers in this category expect. With this version, Kia adds the spice and driving enjoyment missing from the base models.

2027 Kia EV5 GT

It is powered by an all-wheel-drive dual-motor setup producing 225 kW (155 kW at the front and 70 kW at the rear), or 306 horsepower. The system is backed by an 81.4-kWh battery and a GT-specific chassis configuration featuring electronically controlled suspension with a road-preview system, combined with sporty tires mounted on 20-inch wheels.

The exterior design incorporates GT-exclusive elements, while the cabin features bucket-style sport seats and ambient lighting synchronized with GT drive modes. The EV5 GT positions itself as a performance-focused electric SUV perfectly suited for daily use without compromise.

When and how much?

Production of the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT will begin in the second quarter of 2026. The regular EV4 sedan is arriving in Canada as we speak. At this time, the hatchback version is not planned for the Canadian market. As for the EV5 and EV3, the EV5 GT is expected to arrive in Canada first, as its commercialization will begin ahead of the EV3 locally.

Kia Discreetly Prices Anticipated 2027 EV5 From $46,662

Pricing will need to wait until closer to the models’ launch dates. In the case of the EV5, there is already a good indication, since the AWD version uses the same powertrain. As a result, pricing is expected to exceed the current $64,662 asked for the GT-Line Limited.
