Kia Xceed Is The Latest Compact SUV Set To Debut in Geneva

A teaser image has given us our first look at the new Kia Xceed compact sport utility vehicle set to debut in early March in Geneva.

From the little information we can gather from the teaser image, the new Kia Xceed will have a sporty, muscular shape featuring a high belt line and sloping rear window. Call us crazy, but the teaser’s silhouette reminds us of the Lamborghini Urus.

Reports of a new compact SUV from Kia have been gaining momentum in recent weeks. Last week, we saw the first spy photos of the Kia Tusker, an SUV originally planned for the Asian market that has a real chance of making it to North America.

Kia currently offers two sport utility vehicles – Kia Sportage and Kia Sorento – with a few other versatile vehicles such as the Kia Soul and Kia Niro. The upcoming Kia Telluride will fill the void at the top of the Kia SUV lineup, but there’s still room under the Sportage for an entry-level crossover. That’s where the Xceed coud fit in.

Automakers have been putting a ton of new products on the market in the subcompact or urban SUV segment including Kia’s brother Hyundai. The latter introduced the Kona last year which quickly became a hit with both journalists and consumers. A Kona-based Kia product would certainly make sense.

We will just have to wait and see what Kia has in store for us on March 5th at the Geneva Auto Show.
