Koenigsegg is Working on a New Hypercar

  • The teased image shows a very familiar profile.

  • The proportions remind us of the CC8S models.

Koenigsegg is one of the premier boutique hypercar builders in the world. Without exception, every model they’ve ever released has drawn praise from car lovers and wealthy owners. Very recently, they released a teaser image of a new project of theirs and we’re already hooked.

The image was accompanied by a brief line that can only get brand and performance enthusiasts salivating: “Dear 2022, here’s our New Year’s resolution – More ultimate performance through clever engineering and optimal design.”

The profile image shows very familiar silhouette and proportions that instantly remind us of the car that put Koenigsegg on the map: The CC8S. Launched nearly 20 years, it served as the showcase for the brand’s incredible engineering capabilities.

Having said that, are we looking at a new model inspired by the CC8S or a restoration program similar to Pagani’s? Based on Goodwood and according to us, Koenigsegg is working on a new hyper-advanced evolution of the CC8s. It’s possible that it will serve as a tribute to the CC8S that will feature more power, performance and, knowing Koenigsegg, incredible efficiency.

As a reminder, only six CC8S were built. All told, only 70 CC cars (CC8S, CCR, CCX) were assembled between 2002 and 2010.
