The Koenigsegg Jesko Will Be The World’s First 300 MPH Car

Koenigsegg builds the world’s ex-fastest car, and now, the fastest production car ever, the Jesko. But it’s more than just about speed.

Earlier today, Jesko von Koenigsegg and his wife, Brita, were on-hand at the world-premiere his namesake vehicle at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Jesko is Christian von Koenigsegg’s father. The Koenigsegg Jesko is about emotions.

The Koenigsegg Jesko is assembled upon a newly re-designed carbon fibre tub and chassis. This new platform provides occupants with more legroom, headroom and greater visibility more in line with what we typically expect from a grand touring car, and not a world-class hyper track-weapon. The cabin is loaded with the finest hides, alloys alcantara, carbon fibre and more. The Jesko’s about luxury.

Powertrain-wise, the completely re-designed 5.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces 1280-horsepower and up to 1,106 lb.-ft. of torque on standard gasoline. On E85 biofuel, this same mill will generate 1600-horsepower.

To it is mated a ground-breaking new 9-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission (LST) which features a unique multi-clutch design and UPOD technology (Ultimate Power On Demand). This technology allows the transmission to skip gears on a downshift. In other words, it can go from 8^th to 4^th without selecting 7^th, 6^th and 5^th first.
