Koenigsegg Regera reclaims 0-400-0 km/h record, surpassing Rimac Nevera.
RACELOGIC-verified record highlights Regera’s unyielding speed and braking capabilities.
Decade-old Regera’s record-breaking feat attributed to improved tires and smoother track.
Koenigsegg Regera, a name synonymous with breaking barriers in the automotive world, has yet again surpassed its own records. It recently shattered the existing 0-400-0 km/h and 0-250-0 mph benchmarks, with times of 28.81 seconds and 29.60 seconds respectively.
This comes as a reaffirmation of Regera‘s performance, which over the years, has been distinguished by numerous acceleration, speed, braking, and lap records, both on road and track. The Regera’s new feat is a step up from the 2019 0-400-0 km/h record of 31.49 seconds, which in turn, had bested the 2017 0-400-0 km/h record set by Koenigsegg’s Agera RS at 33.29 seconds.
The record-setting data was verified by RACELOGIC. The Regera clocked 0-400 km/h in 20.68 seconds, then braked to a standstill in just 8.13 seconds. Similarly, it shot up to 250 mph in 21.35 seconds, and decelerated back to zero in 8.25 seconds.
Dethroning the Electric Speedster
The Koenigsegg Regera’s recent record-breaking performance gains even more significance when compared with the previous record holder, the Rimac Nevera. Notably, the 0-400-0 km/h record is viewed as the ultimate yardstick of a hypercar’s straight-line performance, evaluating acceleration, aerodynamics, top speed, and braking ability.
The Nevera had carved its name into this highly competitive space with a formidable record time of 29.93 seconds, rendering it the undisputed champion amongst hypercars. However, this reign was not to last long.
The Regera, in its relentless quest for speed, managed to outshine the Nevera’s record by a substantial margin. Its latest performance underlines the car’s enduring dominance in the hypercar field and continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.
Timeless Titan: How Regera Continues to Dominate a Decade On
Engineered a decade ago, the Regera continues to reign supreme in the fiercely competitive automotive landscape. It begs the question: how has a car designed ten years ago managed to improve on its record today? The answer lies in a blend of upgraded Michelin Cup2R tires and a smoother track, which were not available during the previous record runs.
The Swedish moniker ‘Regera’, translating to ‘To Reign’, truly encapsulates the spirit of this automotive titan. With this latest record, Koenigsegg Regera extends its reign in the automotive kingdom, proving that it can still dominate the field, even long after its production line has ceased. This achievement is not just a testament to the Regera’s timeless engineering, but also a celebration of its enduring prowess.
