The selected date of August 18 aligns seamlessly with this schedule, igniting speculation that this event might provide our first glimpse into Lamborghini’s venture into the realm of electric automobiles.

While the teaser image refrains from offering a comprehensive view, it does provide a tantalizing look at the vehicle’s silhouette and beltline. The lines exhibit a sleek and elegant profile, with distinctive design elements adorning the front and rear sections. This fusion of stylistic choices could suggest Lamborghini’s effort to merge its characteristic design language with the smoother contours often found in electric vehicles, aimed at enhancing aerodynamic performance.

Lamborghini’s preliminary announcement referred to this concept as the “first prototype of our fourth series production car.” In July 2023, the company confirmed its intention to unveil its first-ever EV – a 2+2 grand tourer. CEO Stephan Winkelmann highlighted the model’s emphasis on daily usability, setting it apart from upcoming replacements for the Huracan and Revuelto models. Notably, neither of these upcoming vehicles will be SUVs.

Despite the intriguing teaser, the exact proportions of the concept remain shrouded in mystery. The teaser image doesn’t conclusively reveal whether the concept will incorporate rear seats, a feature often associated with production models in this category.

Details regarding the EV’s technical specifications are currently under wraps. Winkelmann did confirm that the vehicle shares components with other offerings within the Volkswagen Group, a strategy in line with the company’s approach to platform sharing. Notably, Lamborghini has previously employed this approach, such as sharing the Urus platform with models like the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, and Porsche Cayenne.

This impending EV concept release signifies Lamborghini’s reentry into the 2+2 grand tourer category after a lengthy hiatus. The brand’s historical lineup of iconic models, including names like the 400 GT 2+2, Islero, Urraco, and Espada, spans back to the late 1970s.
