Lamborghini Will Design Golf Carts to be Built in India

Lamborghini will design exclusive golf carts

  • Lamborghini and Kinetic Green, an Indian EV maker, will work together to produce exclusive golf carts

  • These golf carts will be sold around the world

  • India could lead the world for percentage of electric vehicles in the next 10 years

Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions Ltd. is an Indian manufacturer of three wheeled electric cars, has approached Lamborghini to design exclusive golf carts.

The global golf cart market is worth $3 billion and it is concentrated in North America, the Middle East and parts of Asia, especially places where tourism is strong, since those vehicles are used by hotels, airports and the hospitality business, in addition to golf clubs, of course.

These golf carts would offer buyers a different approach to the cookie-cutter designs currently on the market, which haven’t changed significantly for 40 years.

Since Lamborghini is involved, these carts will probably be aimed at more affluent buyers who want something to reflect their tastes and wealth, a market that has not really been covered, at least not successfully.

Kinetic Green manufactures low end electric vehicles for the Indian market since two and three wheeled vehicles are the most popular category sold in the country, accounting for 81% of the total automotive market, or 19 million units from March 2020 to March 2021.

Even if India has been late to the electrification of its passenger vehicle fleet, the country could actually lead the world in terms of percentage of EVs on the road in the next 10 years, due to the sudden popularity of e-scooters and auto rickshaws.

Kinetic Green believes that 70% of the two and three wheeled vehicles could become electric in the next decade, which would give India a bump to first place, given the size of that market.
