Bigger Kona comes with a bigger price tag
Expect electric model pricing later this year
The bigger new 2024 Hyundai Kona is almost ready to go on sale, and part of that is a pricing announcement. The 2024 Kona will start for just under $26,000 in Canada, with AWD adding two grand on top of that price.
Thanks to wider bodywork and a longer wheelbase, the Kona has a larger cabin than before. To go with it, Hyundai added more tech and more upscale styling to make the Kona look a class higher than the model it replaces.
The larger size comes with a heftier price tag. The 2023 Kona started from $22,649, while the 2024 model brings that up $3,350 to $25,999 plus freight. AWD adds two grand to the price, starting from $27,999 for Essential. Other grades see similar increases with Preferred FRD from $28,499 and Preferred AWD Trend at $32,499. Those models come with a 147 hp 2.0L four and a CVT.
N Line, with a 1.6L turbo-four making 190 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, starts from $35,499 and comes with AWD. N Line AWD Ultimate is $38,499. Ultimate includes features like ventilated front seats, a rarity at this price point.
Both outside and in, Kona looks more like its electric Ioniq siblings. That includes the twin cabin screens linked in a single bezel and the new column-mounted gear selector as well as the dot-dash motifs used around the interior.
If you’re looking for a replacement for the old N Performance model, Hyundai isn’t talking about it yet. If you’re interested in the Kona Electric, more info on that 418km electric crossover will be coming later this year.
The 2024 Hyundai Kona will be available at dealers across the country starting this summer.
