Only a few days ago, BMW revealed the all-new 4 Series Coupé.
From the shared pictures, we were getting accustomed to the massive kidney.
A rendering of the upcoming M4 settled our concerns but now, we’re not so sure.
We feel like we’re repeating ourselves a little from the moment BMW unleashed the Concept 4 at last fall’s Frankfurt Auto Show, all everyone’s been talking about is the car’s oversized “throwback” kidney grille. Comments have gone from “ridiculous” to abhorrently ugly but, truthfully, we’d more or less made peace with the new BMW 4 Series Coupé’s nose when it was officially revealed earlier this week. This real M4 though is forcing us to rethink our position.
All was going just dandy – we were warming up to the grille openings despite what the car will look like once a North American is installed smack in the middle of the bumper. Can you see it in your mind’s eye? As stated, we were fine with it if mostly because the Province of Quebec does not require front plates.
And then, it got better. Only a day later, we share a superb X-Tomi rendering on what the M4 might look like only the day and we were sold. Boy, were we wrong… This picture of the new M4 without camouflage, shared on Reddit, has ruined it for us, or nearly.
We say nearly because the all-new G22 BMW M4 will be a spectacular car to drive what with up to 500-horsepower on tap and a manual transmission in the Pure version. Nearly because thankfully, we don’t see the car’s front end when we’re launching towards the next apex. The driver in the car ahead, the one that about to be decimated by the M4, may regret looking in his or her review mirror…
