Lexus marks a breakthrough in the three-row SUV segment with the debut of the 2024 Lexus TX. Unveiled specifically for the North American market, the TX displays Lexus’ commitment to evolving needs, technology, electrification, and design.
As Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada, highlights, the TX epitomizes Lexus’s commitment to offering a range of luxury vehicles to meet diverse lifestyle needs, while underscoring their continuous dedication to electrification, technology, performance, and design.
A New Dimension of Comfort and Space
The TX presents a fusion of comfort, space, and high-tech features. With significant third-row legroom and a generous 569 L of cargo space behind the third row and 1,625 L with the third row folded flat, the vehicle caters ideally to larger groups and families. Simultaneously offering a serene, enjoyable ride for up to seven passengers, the TX smoothly accommodates a full house without compromising on comfort or cargo.
Performance and Technology in Harmony
In terms of powertrains, the 2024 Lexus TX provides three distinct options. The TX 350 is equipped with a 2.4L Turbo Gas engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and All-Wheel Drive (AWD). It delivers a total of 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Despite this power, it maintains a reasonable fuel efficiency, boasting a combined fuel economy of 11.2 L/100 km.
The TX 500h, on the other hand, utilizes a 2.4L Turbo Hybrid engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and Lexus’ DIRECT4 AWD system. This powertrain is capable of pushing 366 horsepower and 409 lb-ft of torque, while achieving a combined fuel economy of 9.8 L/100 km.
Lastly, the TX 500h+ model is powered by a 3.5L V6 Plug-in Hybrid engine coupled with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and DIRECT4 AWD system. It delivers an impressive 406 horsepower and offers a combined fuel economy of 7.8 L/100 km. Furthermore, it provides an electric vehicle (EV) range of up to 53 km, enhancing its eco-friendliness and fuel efficiency.
The TX doesn’t shy away from high-tech features. A 12.3 multi-information display offers real-time data, while a Digital Latch facilitates touch door opening. The Lexus Interface includes a standard 14-inch Multimedia Touchscreen Display and Digital Key, presenting clear information and user-friendly controls.
An optional 21-speaker Mark Levinson system provides high-quality sound. The cabin is designed for practicality, with storage available in all rows, seven charging/communication ports, and three power outlets. Cupholders, accommodating varied sizes, are removable for flexible use.
The vehicle features a dual-opening console lid in the front seats for independent access. The second row can be a 60:40 split-folding bench or captain’s chairs, depending on grade. Access to the third row is enabled by a slide-assist walk-in mechanism.
Balancing Aesthetic Appeal with Enhanced Rigidity
The 2024 Lexus TX introduces a sleek, powerful silhouette enhanced by a slim L-shaped rear light bar. Its cabin silhouette, with a blacked-out rear pillar and arrow-shaped ornamentation, contributes to a refined design. It will be available in seven exterior colours based on the model grade.
The TX utilizes the GA-K platform to achieve a low center of gravity and optimal weight distribution. Specific enhancements have been made to increase body rigidity and reduce noise and vibration, enriching the driving experience.
Safety remains paramount with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 as standard across all 2024 TX models. It features advanced safety equipment to support the driver and protect passengers.
The 2024 Lexus TX 350 and 500h models will be available this fall, followed by the TX 550h+ at a later date.
