It will be the first production model of the “Lexus Electrified” vision.
The Lexus RZ 450e will be premium SUV.
It will be assembled on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform.
It still seems odd to read and say: Lexus does not yet have an electric vehicle as part of its global lineup. That’s going to change on April 20th when Toyota’s luxury brand will reveal the new all-electric RZ 450e SUV.
A First Full Image of the New 2023 Lexus RZ 450e Fully Electric SUV
Images of the new electric midsize SUV, in prototype guise, were released last December, then again in February, and they essentially tell us almost everything about the production version. The RZ is every bit a Lexus with its prominent spindle grille and chiseled flanks.
One new image features the RZ’s interior where we can clearly see that it sports a yoke steering wheel much like the one found in the Tesla Model S Plaid. The dashboard looks to be very well thought out with the touchscreen superbly integrated into its surroundings – this almost makes the new Lexus NX’s dashboard already look old.
The RZ 450e will be available with all-wheel-drive thanks to Lexus’ new Direct4 system, holds a 90 kWh battery with an estimated 600 km (373 miles) of range.
Everything, or nearly, about the new 2023 Lexus RZ 450e will be revealed on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 6 a.m. ET.
