Only 40 examples will be made.
They are only available in Germany.
And it’s very expensive.
Rallye and Audi Sport fans will immediately recognize what Audi has done to the potent TT RS. The livery harks back to a time when Audi literally stood at the top of the mountain as the brand to beat in Hill Climb and World Rallye events. The Audi TT RS 40 Years of quattro is a celebration of quattro, 40 years in the making.
The source car is the already impressive TT RS. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-litre TFSI 5-cylinder engine which produces 394 horsepower and a maximum torque of 354.0 lb.-ft. With the 7-speed S tronic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive, the TT RS manages to hit 100 km/h from a standstill in only 3.7 seconds.
“For 40 years, quattro has been one of the main technology pillars of the brand with the four rings,” says Julius Seebach, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “Our RS models have always transferred their power onto the road via four wheels as standard. With the special edition of the TT RS limited to 40 units we intend to present our fans in Germany with a really special anniversary gift.”
This gift will sport a unique livery inspired by the specially modified Audi Sport quattro S1 driven to a Pikes Peak victory in 1987 by none other than Walter Röhrl. On top of the decals, the Alpine White TT features an aero kit with upgraded diffusers, side sills, and a front apron. The white-painted 20-inch wheels and red brake calipers complete the exterior look.
The cabin is also tastefully spruced up with various touches such as heritage stripes, contrast stitching, and more. The most interesting touch is the option to remove the rear bench and replace it with a carbon fibre strut cross brace.
The Audi TT RS 40 Years of quattro is on sale now at a price of 114,040 euros, or about $133,000 USD.
