Longer IQ would have more cabin space
Would likely eclipse even the gas-powered Escalade ESV
Cadillac is planning a longer version of the Escalade IQ. The extended electric will be called the Cadillac Escalade IQL, according to a new report.
A spokesperson from the brand confirmed the longer model to Automotive News. “We understand that some customers are looking for a vehicle with additional space,” a spokesperson said, adding that Cadillac would release details later this year.
Cadillac didn’t say how long the model might be, but we know that a long-wheelbase IQ will be massive. The “short” version, the 2025 Escalade IQ, is already 224.3-inches long, making it nearly as long as the gas-powered Escalade ESV. Its 136-inch wheelbase is more than a foot longer than the gas Escalade, and even longer than the extended-length Escalade ESV’s.
The ESV version of the Escalade is a sibling to the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL. It offers more interior space, particularly for third-row passengers, as well as extra cargo space behind the third row. An Escalade IQL would likely offer the same features for the electric version of the crossover.
Production of the 2025 Escalade IQ EV is expected to start this summer. Look for more details, as well as more news about the IQL, later this year.
