  • Eletre and Eletre R offer up to 905 hp, sportscar dynamics, and advanced electric powertrain.

British sportscar maker Lotus has unveiled the pricing for its first ever electric SUV, the Eletre, as it prepares to launch the vehicle in the Canadian market later this year.

Customers in Canada can now configure and order the high-performance Eletre, with deliveries expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. Lotus is offering two variants – the standard Eletre priced at $126,800 CAD and the more powerful Eletre R model at $178,500 CAD.

The Eletre represents a new breed of performance SUV blending Lotus’ lightweight design principles with electric powertrains and advanced aerodynamics. It aims to provide sportscar-like driving dynamics alongside the versatility and practicality of an SUV.

The entry-level Eletre produces 603 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 258 km/h. The range-topping Eletre R kicks out a powerful 905 hp and 985 Nm of torque, hitting 100 km/h from rest in just 2.95 seconds on its way to a 265 km/h top speed.

Long Range and Ultra-Fast Charging

Both models use a 111.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. On the WLTP combined cycle, the standard Eletre can achieve up to 354 miles (569 km) of range, while the Eletre R is rated at 254-280 miles (409-451 km). Using a 350 kW DC fast charger, the batteries can be recharged from 10-80% in just 20 minutes.

The Eletre features advanced aerodynamics and up to six driving modes, including a track mode. It rides on an air suspension with active anti-roll bars and continuous damping control. Huge 412mm steel brakes are standard on both models, with the R available with an optional 420mm carbon ceramic setup clamped by 10-piston calipers.

At 5.1 meters long, the Eletre provides a spacious cabin for five adults with up to 1,532 litres of rear cargo space. The interior uses sustainable materials like man-made Econyl fibre.

Inside, the Eletre combines a modern, sustainable interior with the latest connectivity features like the HyperOS infotainment system powered by NVIDIA chips. It also integrates a premium KEF audio setup and configurable seating for up to five occupants.

Order Books Now Open

With ordering now underway, the Eletre marks Lotus’ entry into the lucrative high-performance electric SUV segment to rival models from Porsche, Tesla and others. First deliveries to Canadian customers are scheduled for later this year.
