It will be priced from $77,400 before Federal tax credit.
Lucid’s configurator is live and taking reservations.
Lucid has revealed the name of its luxurious Air sedan’s base trim: Pure. It’s a fitting name as the car, even in its most basic form, is purely attractive. Also now included in Lucid’s online builder is the initial delivery date which is sometime in early 2022.
At $77,400, the Air Pure is powered by a single rear motor good for 480 horsepower. Its projected EPA-estimated range will be of 406 miles on a single charge. The configurator indicates that AWD is available however there’s currently no way to build the car to get a purchase price. The reservation fee for the Pure is of $300 in the US, $400 in Canada.
We’ve said this before: One way or another, all EVs will be compared to Tesla vehicles for the foreseeable future. The new base model of the Lucid Air, referred to as the Pure, is certainly enticing but on “paper” at least, it falls slightly short of the base Long Range Plus dual-motor Tesla Model S.
We will say though that Lucid’s configurator is far more realistic and visually pleasing than Tesla’s.
