Lucid releases its 2024 Air Pure RWD model, the brand’s most budget-friendly offering, with impressive features and a competitive range, cheaper than Tesla’s base Model S.
The Lucid Air Pure RWD is priced at $101,800 with a range of 659 kms in Canada.
It boasts a single-motor system producing 430 horsepower and an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
The model provides enhanced rear passenger comfort due to a more compact battery design.
Lucid Motors has unveiled its latest electric vehicle offering: the 2024 Lucid Air Pure RWD. This new model comes on the heels of the company’s recent announcement of their high-end Air Sapphire. Priced at $101,800, the Air Pure RWD is Lucid’s answer to a more affordable EV without compromising on essential features and performance.
Distinguishing itself as the singular single-motor variant in the Air series, the Pure RWD is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor, which churns out a commendable 430 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. These specifications translate to a rapid acceleration, allowing the car to dart from a standstill to 100 km/h in a mere 4.5 seconds, topping off at a speed of 200 km/h.
An essential component of any EV is its range, and the Air Pure RWD does not disappoint. In Canada, the model promises a range of 659 kms, making it a strong contender in the current EV market. This impressive range can be attributed to its 88-kilowatt-hour Long Range Battery Pack.
However, range isn’t its only highlight. Lucid has strategically used its most compact battery yet in this model. The result is a lowered floor in the rear passenger section, ensuring more legroom and comfort for occupants compared to some other Lucid Air variants.
2023 Lucid Air Quick First Drive Review: First Impressions are Incredibly Convincing
Equipped with the same 900-volt electrical setup seen in other Air models, the Pure RWD boasts ultra-fast charging capabilities, gaining up to 240 kilometers of range in under 12 minutes.
Lucid ensures that even at this competitive price point, customers won’t miss out on luxury. Standard features encompass a 34-inch curved Glass Cockpit display, heated seats, advanced driver assistance systems, and more.
Yet, as Lucid makes this strategic move, it faces competition. Tesla’s recent price adjustments for its Model S may pose challenges, but Lucid is determined to make a mark with the Air Pure RWD.
