Presented on the frozen lake of St. Moritz, this one-of-one MCPURA Cielo showcases how the Fuoriserie program uses colour, materials, and graphic contrast as the primary design language to define the car’s identity.
- Fuoriserie design centred on colour contrast and iridescent paintwork as the defining visual element
- One-off specification created for THE I.C.E. event, emphasizing bespoke craftsmanship
- Performance credentials retained with the 630 hp Nettuno V6 and track-oriented options
The frozen surface of Lake St. Moritz served as the stage for the public debut of the MCPURA Cielo – Frozen Magma, a bespoke interpretation created through Maserati’s Fuoriserie program. Revealed during THE I.C.E., an event known for gathering rare and exclusive automobiles in a winter setting, the car’s presentation relied as much on its environment as on its specification.

Focus on design
The central element of this project is not performance, but design execution. The Fuoriserie program’s intervention is most visible through the exterior finish: an Ai Aqua Rainbow glossy paint that produces an iridescent effect under changing light. The surface shifts tone depending on the viewing angle, echoing the reflective qualities of ice and glacier textures. This evolving colour treatment becomes the primary visual signature of the car.

In deliberate contrast, glossy orange accents are applied as graphic markers across the body. The orange dreamline livery, Trident emblems, model badging, and detailing on the tonneau cover introduce warmth against the cool base colour. Black lower fascias and 20-inch Cyclonic black wheels further frame the composition, while orange brake calipers and matching hub details complete the visual theme. The overall effect is built on opposition: cold versus warm, fluid reflections versus sharp graphic lines.
Same logic inside
The cabin follows the same design logic. Black Alcantara dominates the interior, chosen for its technical appearance and tactile quality. Orange stitching and laser-etched Chevron graphics with orange backing echo the exterior contrast. Carbon-fibre trim underscores the car’s performance roots, while a dedicated badge confirms the car’s one-off status for the 2026 edition of THE I.C.E.

Always with Netturo
Mechanically, the MCPURA Cielo retains the brand’s 630-horsepower Nettuno V6 engine with pre-chamber combustion technology. Optional equipment includes carbon-ceramic brakes, a suspension lifter system, a driver assistance package, and a Sonus Faber premium audio system. These elements remain consistent with the model’s performance positioning, but they are not the focus of this Fuoriserie exercise.
For an identity
Instead, Frozen Magma demonstrates how Maserati’s personalization program can redefine the identity of an existing model through colour theory, material contrast, and event-specific storytelling. The design becomes the message, using the environment of St. Moritz as a visual amplifier.
Santo Ficili, Maserati COO, stated: “With MCPURA Cielo – FROZEN MAGMA, we are shaping an emotion even before creating an extraordinary car. This Fuoriserie project was conceived to dialogue with a unique setting like St. Moritz, interpreting our vision of contemporary luxury through shapes, colours, and materials, rooted in craftsmanship, performance, and Heritage, and capable of transforming an iconic model into a one-of-a-kind work of art. MCPURA Cielo – FROZEN MAGMA is part of the BOTTEGAFUORISERIE program, through which we aim to elevate the creation of timeless bespoke vehicles drawing from our history and our vision, making each of our cars a true symbol of Italian excellence and pure performance”.
