McLaren Hypercar BC-03 Apparently Leaked On Instagram

A year ago, the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo concept surfaced. It seems this is the real car.

Nearly two years ago, the McLaren Ultimate Vision GT became available for Gran Turismo Sport video game. A year later, the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo concept landed on the internet and another year after that, we’ve got what appear to be leaked pictures of a running test mule. Is this the next McLaren hypercar?

The Instagram post shows four images of the McLaren BC-03, or what could be a near production-ready version of McLaren’s next hypercar. Along with the pictures, the words 1,150-horsepower and a note about only five (or fifteen) will be built seem believable enough.

Last year, numerous stories circulated on the web about this car which included some rather mouth-watering specs. Although these numbers are from the video game, they’re worth mentioning here: twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, electric motors, 1,150 horsepower, 940 lb.-ft. of torque and a kerb weight of only 2,204 lb or an even 1,000 kg.

The car itself is instantly recognizable as a McLaren. The highlight is by far the rear spoiler which sits at the edges of two oversized fins at each extremity of the rear quarter panels. The spoiler connects with a central fin and spans the full width of the car. The diffuser is equally colossal. Both of these elements scream massive speed and is if to highlight this, the one image of the car in action shows blue flames spewing from the centrally-mounted tailpipes.

By the images on @Pogforever’s IG feed (which seem to have disappeared), the McLaren BC-03 certainly looks real.
