For many car enthusiasts, the passion for automobiles started the same way — lying on the floor with a Hot Wheels car in hand. Mercedes-Benz and Hot Wheels are tapping into that childhood memory to bring a full-scale Hot Wheels CLA to life.
- This CLA is a creation born from a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Hot Wheels
- The project is part of the “Class of Creators” series
- A 1:64-scale version of this CLA will also be available for purchase
Hot Wheels goes all out with Mercedes-Benz
Hot Wheels is having fun with the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA by turning it into a bold, full-scale art piece. Unveiled at the creative hub Race Service in Los Angeles, this unique CLA flaunts an exaggerated and spectacular design: oversized diffusers, a massive rear wing, and paintwork inspired by 1980s pop culture, featuring bright orange, pink, and blue shades with retro flames.

This daring mix of colours transforms the CLA, usually a sleek compact coupe, into a caricature of a wild super sports car. And it’s not just a showpiece: the car will next appear at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in El Segundo.

When toy DNA meets automotive design
The Hot Wheels spirit is unmistakable — and that’s precisely the goal of this project, dubbed “Play Beyond Limits.” The idea is simple: play fuels creativity, and for many of us, it began on the floor with a small die-cast car in hand. This collaboration aims to channel that childhood imagination and fuse it with Mercedes-Benz’s real-world design language.
Part of the “Class of Creators” program
This initiative is part of Mercedes-Benz’s “Class of Creators” program, launched at the CLA’s world premiere in Rome in March 2025. Instead of limiting itself to co-branded merchandise, the German automaker now invites designers, musicians, and artists to freely interpret its models.

Previous collaborations have included Virgil Abloh, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, Roger Federer, and fashion brands like Moncler. More recently, Ice Spice, Gustaf Westman, and KidSuper have shared their own visions of Mercedes-Benz design, with a League of Legends collaboration coming soon. This Hot Wheels CLA closes out the 2025 series with flair, reminding us that the line between play and performance is thinner than we think, proving you can have fun while still being spectacular and inspiring.

A collectible miniature coming in 2026
Fans will soon be able to own a piece of this collaboration: a 1:64-scale Hot Wheels miniature will hit the market in spring 2026. Whether you’re an adult collector or someone who grew up racing Hot Wheels tracks across the living room, this creation embodies Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to blending pop culture, art, and design at the core of its product strategy. The price for this collectible has yet to be announced.
