GLB returns with optional seven-seat layout and advanced infotainment.
AMG GLB 35 4MATIC delivers 306 hp and 0–100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
Both models offer variable AWD, off-road options, and MBUX tech system.
Mercedes-Benz has refreshed its compact SUV lineup for the 2026 model year, updating the GLB and AMG GLB 35 4MATIC with new technology, more comfort features, and improved efficiency.

The updated GLB retains its off-road-oriented styling with short overhangs, protective cladding, and roof rails, while introducing minor design updates and new trim details. Measuring 4,634 mm in length, the GLB offers seating for five or seven occupants. The optional third row can accommodate passengers up to 1.68 metres (5 feet 5 inches) tall and includes USB ports, cup holders, and storage compartments.
Interior revisions focus on usability and refinement, with aluminium-look dashboard elements and the latest generation MBUX infotainment system. Energizing Comfort features continue to integrate lighting, audio, and seat functions into programmable wellness modes. The five-seat version offers a cargo capacity of 570 to 1805 litres, with a second row that adjusts fore and aft by up to 140 mm. The third-row seats fold flat to extend the load floor when not in use.

The 2026 GLB lineup retains its range of updated four-cylinder petrol engines. The GLB 250 4MATIC upgrades to a 2.0L engine delivering 224 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The engine includes efficiency-focused updates such as cylinder shut-off and reduced internal friction.
The AMG GLB 35 4MATIC uses a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine generating 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the AMG Speedshift DCT 8G dual-clutch transmission and AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the model reaches 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. The all-wheel drive system can vary torque from front-biased to an even 50:50 split depending on driving conditions.

The optional Off-Road Engineering Package enhances performance on light terrain with dedicated drive modes, off-road displays, and downhill speed regulation. Suspension choices include adaptive damping and AMG Ride Control for the AMG variant.
Driver assistance systems have been updated for 2026, including improved Active Distance Assist Distronic, lane-keeping capabilities, and a more advanced parking system. The GLB’s cameras and sensors now provide up to 500 metres of forward visibility in certain conditions.

The latest generation of the MBUX system features new AMG-specific display modes, voice control activated by “Hey Mercedes,” and optional augmented reality navigation. Models with Multibeam LED headlamps continue to offer a dedicated off-road light function that improves visibility below 50 km/h.
The GLB continues to be manufactured in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and Beijing for the Chinese market. It remains part of Mercedes-Benz’s compact model lineup, which includes eight vehicles globally.
Model options expected in Canada include the GLB 250 4MATIC and AMG GLB 35 4MATIC. Pricing and availability to be announced at a later date.
