Mercedes-Benz Unveils the Interior of the Upcoming Electric C-Class Ahead of Full Reveal on April 20

  • The next C-Class will feature a similar interior design to all of the brand’s recent models.

  • The MBUX Hyperscreen, running almost the entire width of the dashboard, will be optional.

  • Mercedes-Benz claims the new C-Class will be quieter and feature a more efficient heating and air conditioning system than the current model.

Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to unveil the next generation of the C-Class sedan on April 20th, and as has become customary with the brand’s latest product launches, it has shown the interior before the exterior.

Indeed, the German automaker published three pictures showing the cabin of the next C-Class, which will feature an electric powertrain and could later gain hybrid versions, like the new CLA.

Unsurprisingly, the interior of the upcoming C-Class looks very similar to that of the brand’s latest products, which is to say that the dashboard is a vertical glass panel that is capped at either side by a large round air vent.

The full-width MBUX Superscreen will be standard while the MBUX Hyperscreen will be available, providing the front passenger with a dedicated screen in addition to the central infotainment system.

Mercedes-Benz says that the standard glass roof and the electric architecture will make the interior feel more spacious than ever before in a C-Class.

Speaking of the glass roof, buyers will be able to select the optional Sky Control roof, which will feature 162 illuminated stars that tie into the comprehensive ambient illumination system.

Apart from the theme of the large screen and the starts in the available roof, this system will also feature lighted accents around the screen bezels, the door panels, the center console, and the air vents.

While the first pictures only show a car fitted with black upholstery highlighted by red contrast stitching, the automaker says Beech Brown and Macchiato Beige will also be available, in addition to trim finishes in white open-pore natural fiber and open-pore fineline birch wood in grey or brown.

Metallic accents will also be features on the door panels, center console, and the air vents, along with stainless steel speaker grilles on cars equipped with the available Burmester 3D and 4D audio systems.

Like the 2027 GLC with EQ Technology, the new C-Class will be available with a vegan interior that is certified by The Vegan Society to not contain any animal product in the upholstery, carpeting, and soft touch materials.

Mercedes-Benz is the first automaker to feature a vegan interior that is certified by an independent body.

To make sure the driver and front passenger don’t get fatigued on longer road trips, High-End front seats can be ordered, which feature a 4-way electro-pneumatic lumbar support adjuster and a massage function.

In addition, the new C-Class features optional Energizing Comfort programs, which tailor the sounds, ambient lighting, display animations and seat kinetics to further promote wellness and comfort during long or stressful drives.

While few technical details are known about this upcoming electric sedan, Mercedes-Benz claims that the new C-Class will be quieter than its predecessor, thanks to standard laminated glass up front, extensive use of sound insulation, decoupling suspension mounts, specially engineered electric motors, and a new heating and air conditioning unit.

The latter is said to be significantly more effective than heating systems in gasoline-powered cars, even without pre-conditioning the cabin in winter. In fact, the automaker claims the cabin of the new C-Class will warm up twice as fast as the current model during a 20-minute commute at an outside air temperature of -7 degrees Celsius, while using only half as much energy thanks to a more efficient heat pump. In the summer, the same system is said to prevent dry eyes by only dehumidifying the air as much as necessary to achieve the set temperature.

More details, as well as a full look at the outside of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class, will be revealed on April 20th, 2026, when the electric sedan will premiere in South Korea.
