Mid-engine Corvette madness

Talks and rumours about a mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette have been circulating online for quite a while now. This last series of spy-shots shows a near Acura NSX stance, shape and footprint that can only indicate that the front bonnet will cover a storage area, perhaps a few fluid reservoirs and a battery.

Chevy’s done a commendable, and enviable job with the current C7 7th generation Corvette. Each iteration, including the most basic car, is a monument of performance, handling and emotions. If this is to be the next C8 Corvette, it will likely put to shame even the most exotic of hyper-cars.

Although we all want this to be the next Vette, some pros are guessing that this might be in fact a Cadillac. We don’t like the idea. We do, however, enjoy the thought that a normally aspirated, or twin-turbocharged V8 will lurk behind the seats. It’s gotta be a V8, right?

We can’t wait for the next Corvette!!
