Mid-Engined Chevy Corvette C8 Exhaust Note is Sounding Good

Mid-engined Chevy Corvette C8 exhaust note captured in latest video.

If a week goes by without some news about the new mid-engined Chevy Corvette, we’ll be shocked. As we get closer to the July 18th unveil, C8 Corvette sightings are still a dime a dozen. The latest spy video gives our ears a taste of the mid-engine’s exhaust note.

Honestly, the sound isn’t bad at all, but it’s not anything crazy either. It sounds a lot more like a naturally-aspirated engine as opposed to a turbocharged unit. We don’t yet know what engine will power the upcoming C8 Corvette, but there have been rumors of a twin-turbo engine making its way into America’s performance flagship.

That exhaust note, however, begs to differ. The new mid-engined C8 will likely have around 500 horsepower in its base engine compared to the current model’s 460-horsepower unit. The C8 Corvette could get different powertrains, however, and push the power up to 700 horsepower.
