Mini Launches the 1965 Victory Edition to Commemorate 1965 Monte Carlo Rally Win

  • This special edition will be available exclusively on the John Cooper Works 3-door in North America.

  • It includes Chili red paint, white mirrors and a white roof, along with “52” graphics that recall the racing number of the 1965 winner.

  • Only 45 units will be produced for the Canadian market.

Mini is getting ready to launch a new special edition of its iconic hatchback next month, when the 1965 Victory Edition is expected to arrive.

Created to commemorate Mini’s win of the Monte Carlo Rally in that year, the 1965 Victory Edition is an appearance package than can be added to the John Cooper Works 3-door in Canada and the United States. In Europe, buyers will also have a choice of the Cooper S and the John Cooper Works Electric.

When selected, this option brings Chili Red paint, a white roof and white side mirrors (something usually not available on the JCW), an offset white stripe running from the front bumper to the rear bumper, and large “52” graphics on the doors and quarter panels, which recall the racing number of the Mini Cooper S that came first over 60 years ago.

Other distinctive elements include subtle “1965” scripts on the C-Pillar and JCW Lap Spoke 2-tone Design 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the door sills feature a plaque with “1965” written in white over a red and black background, a sticker on the inside of the door that gives information about the Monte Carlo Rally, and upholstery that uses the black and red JCW colour scheme for all models.

Here again, the 1965 Victory Edition stands out with its “1965” scripts on the lower steering wheel spoke and the center console storage box, while the “52” graphic can be found on the back of the vehicle’s key fob.

No mechanical changes are included in the package, which means that the John Cooper Works 1965 Victory Edition hatchback will be powered by a 2,0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 228 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, which is good for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint of 6,1 seconds.

Only 45 units of the Mini 1965 Victory Edition John Cooper Works will be available in Canada, at a price of $55,200.

Deliveries are expected to start at the end of the first quarter of 2026 or the beginning of the second one.
