In the absence of Stellantis, General Motors and Ford are the only American manufacturers present at the 79th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show. As for Ford, they haven’t scaled anything back as their booth features no fewer than 20 models on display, including the new Ranger 2024.

For 2024, the Ranger is completely renewed. In fact, the midsize pickup segment is undergoing a major transformation, with a new generation of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon duo in 2023. This year, it’s the turn of the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger to undergo serious upgrades. The new-generation Ranger offers just one body configuration: a SuperCrew cab paired with a five-foot bed.

Under the hood, the Ranger 2024 comes with a 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Eventually, Ford will offer a turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine as an option. In addition, for 2024, the American manufacturer is adding a Raptor version of its midsize pickup. Such a version was previously offered in other markets, but not ours. This off-road-capable, performance-oriented version is powered by a turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine.

No matter which version you choose, 4X4 drive comes as standard with the latest iteration of the Ranger. The base version, identified by the letters XL, has an entry price of $43,590. The price scale climbs to $80,140 for the Raptor version. According to the model’s catalog, the Ranger Raptor comes exclusively in Refuge Green Metallic. The Ranger Raptor is also exhibiting at the Montreal International Auto Show.

Visitors to the show will be able to get up close and personal with the following SUVs: Expedition, Edge, Escape, Bronco Sport, Bronco and Bronco Raptor. Also on display will be the Maverick, F-150 and F-150 Lightning pickup trucks. In addition to the latter, the electric segment will also feature the Mustang Mach-E, Mustang Mach-E Rally and E-Transit. And, of course, the formidable duo of the new Ford Mustang GT and Dark Horse 2024.
