The Mitsubishi booth featured a selection of four SUVs.
Among them, only one electrified model is offered, the Outlander PHEV.
Mitsubishi has no big news to present for 2024.
After missing the 2023 edition, Mitsubishi returns to the Montreal International Auto Show in 2024. For the Japanese automaker, the Quebec market represents over 40% of annual sales in the country. Introducing show visitors to the product range was therefore a must.
Of course, the Outlander PHEV 2024 steals the show in the Mitsubishi booth. This large compact, three-row SUV is a plug-in hybrid that is very popular in the province. With a range of 61 kilometres in electric mode, the Outlander PHEV is a sensible choice in its segment. It’s also eligible for $10,000 in government credits. The automaker also offers a gasoline version with a 2.0L, four-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine under the hood.
Also in the SUV range, Mitsubishi offers the Eclipse Cross. Powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine, it straddles the sub-compact and compact SUV segments.
Finally, we can’t overlook the RVR’s presence in the Mitsubishi booth at the show. Indeed, the current generation of this SUV is virtually unchanged since 2011. It is the least expensive SUV offered by the brand. Its starting price is $24,598. Consumers can opt for a front-wheel-drive version or take advantage of the S-AWC four-wheel-drive system.
The Japanese manufacturer’s only car, the 2024 Mirage, is also on hand. This is one of only two subcompact cars currently available on the Canadian market. Its base price is $16,998. Its hood houses a three-cylinder, 1.2L, naturally-aspirated engine delivering 78 hp.
