Mopar gave us a sneak peek of what will be in their booth at the 2019 SEMA Show next month. It will include, among other vehicles, the Ram 1500 Rebel OTG Concept and Mopar Lowliner Concept.
The Mopar brand is hitting Vegas next month for the 2019 SEMA Show with 14 vehicles. Among those 14 vehicles will be two concepts, the Ram 1500 Rebel OTG and Mopar Lowliner.
“These vehicles showcase how Mopar is constantly expanding and exploring new ideas to meet the needs and fuel the imagination of our passionate fans,” said Mark Bosanac, Head of Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care, FCA – North America. “Whether it’s overlanding in remote locations or reimagining an alternative classic design history, Mopar has its customers covered.”
The Ram 1500 Rebel OTG (Off The Grid), an overlanding-themed concept, is based on the new 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel powered by the 3.0-litre V-6 EcoDiesel engine. It will feature beadlock wheels, 35-inch Goodyear tires and of course Mopar’s concept two-inch lift kit.
It’s also fitted with a bed rack system carrying a collapsible rooftop tent. A retractable battery-powered cooler and kitchen unit with a gas-powered stove and sink with an on-board water system is also built-in the truck bed.
Other details such as an integrated front-bumper winch, traction mats attached to the rack system and a high-lift jack, a solar panel set, an on-board air compressor and LED off-road driving lamps are part of the well thought out Ram 1500 Rebel OTG Concept.
As for the Mopar Lowliner Concept, it started out as a 1968 Dodge D200-series heavy-duty pickup truck.
The Candied Delmonico Red and Dairy Cream-coloured concept was lowered with air suspension while its wheelbase got lengthened for a “more dramatic stance”. The Mopar Lowliner Concept is powered by a 5.9-litre Cummins diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a floor-mounted shifter.
The Lowline rides on a set of custom staggered 22-in “smoothie” look wheels wrapped around 285/35R22 tires in the front and 325/35 in the back.
These two concepts and all the other Mopar customized vehicles will be showcased at the brand’s 15,000-square-foot SEMA Show exhibit.
