The GR Corolla is the best modern sport compact car. Period.
The Circuit Edition will return for the 2024 model year as well.
We and everyone other true car enthusiast called it last year: The Toyota GR Corolla is awesome. We got to sample every last new sport compact car, except the GTI, between late 2021 and late 2022 and the verdict is simple: The GRolla is supreme, superior, and special.
Expectedly, demand for the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla far outstrips production numbers. This is even truer when it comes to the ultra-hot Morizo edition and the mid-trim Circuit. While the former will not be reproduced, the latter will. And as far as we’re concerned, the “base” Core is the most interesting, but no matter which version is considered, they’re all amazing.
Toyota has announced that they will indulge fans and make more:
“We are seeing a ton of enthusiasm and excitement for the GR Corolla, especially the Circuit Edition,” says Michael Tripp, Toyota vice president of Marketing and Communications. “When Toyota GR fans speak, we listen and our plans are to increase GR Corolla volume and continue offering the Circuit Edition as part of the GR Corolla lineup in 2024.”
Toyota ends its press release by stating that the 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition will retain certain standard features from the 2023 model, with additional information to be disclosed later this year. The possibility of producing Circuit Edition models for 2025 and beyond is still being evaluated.
