Colour is a deep crimson red.
Tesla will have an advanced paint shop at Giga Berlin.
Colour options have always been scarce with Tesla vehicles.
Colour can make a huge difference on any vehicle. Musk has said that the new Giga Berlin will get an advanced paint shop and eventually, so will Tesla’s Freemont and Shanghai plants.
Since the production of the Tesla Model S began in 2012, it and other models have never been offered in more than a handful of colour choices. In fact, as pointed out by electrek.co, the number of available shades has actually been cut over the years.
@elonmusk Is this the “deep crimson” Tesla paint color you were talking about loving recently that’s planned for Giga Berlin? (I think this is your personal car given who sent me this photo).

This will change in the future as Elon Musk has mentioned that the Gigafactory Berlin in Germany, which goes online in the summer of 2021, will be the first assembly plant to offer more paint options for the Model Y. Eventually, although it could take a while, other Tesla assembly lines will get the updated paint shops.
The lovely deep crimson red Model S in the picture was confirmed to be Musk’s personal car (it was parked in SpaceX’s executive parking lot) and that the colour is one that Tesla is developing for the new paint shop.
In a few words, the shade makes the Model S look even more premium. If anything, it’s a nice change from silver, white, black, blue and red.
