There were a lot of new and important models unveiled this week, from the redesigned 2021 Nissan Rogue to the new 2021 Lexus IS to two high-performance German luxury sedans. Tesla surpassed the 400-mile barrier and the Mazda BT-50 is a cool truck we won’t get here. There’s new technology coming at Ford and the Polestar 1 has the most range of any PHEV vehicle according to the EPA.
1. New Ford Mustang Mach 1
The Ford Mustang Mach 1 reveal was the big news of the week. Sportier than a GT and aimed at track use, it features a Coyote V8 with 480 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.
2. 2021 Toyota Supra Pricing in Canada and the US
Toyota confirmed pricing for the 2021 Toyota Supra in both Canada and the United States. The 2021 lineup features a more affordable, 2.0 version with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
3. 2021 Nissan Rogue Unveiled
The new 2021 Nissan Rogue was revealed earlier this week. Featuring a new design, a new powertrain, a new platform, and a new interior design, it’s a completely new generation of a very important model for Nissan.
4. 2021 Lexus IS Unveiled
Lexus launched the brand-new 2021 US compact sedan with a redesigned exterior and improved safety technology. The powertrains carry over from the previous IS unchanged.
5. Polestar 1 PHEV EPA Range Announced
The Polestar 1 PHEV was rated at 52 miles of range by the EPA, a cool 84 kilometres here in Canada. That’s not as much as Polestar advertised for its flagship plug-in hybrid, but still more than any other PHEV out there.
6. Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 Coming To The Mustang Mach-E
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E will be the first Ford product to get the updated Co-Pilot360 2.0 suite of driver assistance technologies. The biggest improvement is the new Active Drive Assist autonomous driving system.
7. 2021 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Unveiled
Mercedes-AMG couldn’t stay quiet in the face of a new rival from BMW, so they revealed the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S with 603 horsepower and a lot of new tech inside and out. And yes, the wagon is coming back.
8. 2021 BMW M5 Unveiled
The new 2021 BMW M5 debuted this week, following the reveal of the new 5 Series lineup. It features a 600-horsepower base engine and a ton of tech designed to make it go fast on a track.
9. Mazda BT-50 Truck
The Mazda BT-50 is a mid-size truck offered in Asia and that is coming to Australia. It has a turbodiesel engine and an impressive towing capacity along with an elegant interior and very nice KODO exterior design.
10. 2020 Tesla Model S Offers More Than 400 Miles of Range
The new 2020 Model S offers 402 miles of range, or 647 kilometres. That’s a 20-percent increase over the previous Model S.
