The Naran comes from the United Kingdom
Only 49 units will be built
A twin-turbo V8 with no electric components whatsoever supplies the power
There have been a ton of ridiculous hypercar ideas in the last few years, all with over 1,000 horsepower and all electrified in some way. The new Naran fits into that category, with one major exception.
The Naran, surprisingly, isn’t electric or hybrid. The UK-based company that builds it, also called Naran, is going against the grain by putting a twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8 engine in its new supercar.
Good for 1,062 horsepower delivered to all four wheels, it will shoot the Naran to 60 mph in less than 3.0 seconds according to the company. Top speed is rated at 230 mph, or 368 km/h.
Also surprising is that the Naran has four seats despite appearances.
As for the mechanics, the new performance car is built like a race car with a double-wishbone suspension that can be adjusted with pinpoint precision as well as a hydraulic rack for the steering. Carbon ceramic brakes are also included and the car’s agressive body kit and massive rear wing delivers over 3,000 pounds of downforce.
The resume is impressive, no question about it. Naran says only 49 cars will be built and customized to the exact specs of the buyer. The new owner can even choose what the car will be built and no two cars will be the same. How’s that for customization?
No price was announced and it’s not clear when Naran will start building their new monster. We will keep you posted.
