With every new larger luxury SUV comes a psycho hyper-powered take-no-prisoners version. The Mercedes-Benz GLE is scarcely a year old but the time was ripe for the unveiling of the super-powered 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S.
There will never be any mistaking the GLE 63 for anything else than it is. From the front, its gaping vents tell a tale of consuming much oxygen to feed the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8. With EQ Boost, which provides an extra 21-horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, the GLE 63 S generates a massive 603-horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. of torque.
Part and parcel to launching the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S into orbit are the 9-speed automatic transmission, air suspension and the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system with fully variable torque distribution. Yes, this means we expect to shortly see a video of a GLE 63 drifting wildly, and we look forward to it.
Oh, and in case it wasn’t clear, there will be a GLE 63, slower to 60 mph by 0.4 seconds, and a GLE 63 S which reaches the horizon in 3.7 seconds.
As always, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 will be loaded with the absolute latest in safety and infotainment technologies.
