The current fifth-generation A91 GR Supra has generated more than its fair share of controversy but the bottom line is that everyone is thankful that Toyota went and signed off on it. For the 2022 model year, Toyota will attempt to tempt tuners with its new CF Edition.
For the 2021 model year, Toyota did the right thing and boosted the GR Supra’s output to the level the turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six-cylinder engine should have been all along. Now with 382 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,800-5,000 rpm, the A91’s numbers are more than respectable.
For 2022, Toyota returns with the GR Supra A91-CF Edition which features an all-new carbon fibre aero body kit. Importantly, it is functional and includes a front splitter and larger canards, side rockers, an extremely cool duckbill spoiler, and lower canards. Complementing the body kit is a set of matte-black 19-inch wheels. The car can be painted matte-gray Phantom, Absolute Zero White, and Nitro Yellow. The cabin includes new red-and-black accents throughout its Alcantara-and-leather-trimmed cabin.
Included with the purchase of a 2022 Toyota GR Supra A91-CF Edition is a one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). This package entitles the owner to a free High-Performance Driving Event (HPDE) and discounted admission to NASA-sanctioned events.
Pricing will be announced in the near future and the new CF Edition arrives in showrooms this fall.
