Said V8 puts out “only” 670 horsepower.
We’re about eleven views in so far… And believe me you, the first six seconds are all that’s really needed to understand that the new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is one serious ultra-high-performance car.
The video you see above was shot at the recent Indianapolis 500 and while racing took place, the star is by far the various Z06 spottings with a number of start-ups. At about 1:26 minutes, the first Z06 Convertible with the extraordinary Z07 package and carbon fibre wheels.
The host, Byron Glover Jr, from Drive615 gets to go for a ride in the Indy 500 Z06 pace car. In short, the Z06 looks spectacular with the added carbon fibre aero from the Z07 package. At one point, the Z06 flies by at a staggering 163 mph.
The speed is made possible thanks to the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06’s flat-plane crank 5.5-litre V8 that produces 670 horsepower at 8,400 rpm and 460 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,300 rpm – the redline being a stunning 8,600 rpm.
We must learn to appreciate these moments of raw engine noises as we will soon reminisce about the good times, which are now.
