The latest Ford Focus ST won’t be coming to North America, but that doesn’t mean we have to pretend like it doesn’t exist.
The new Ford Focus ST seen in the pictures below doesn’t look overly agressive, and that’s part of its charm. It’s sporty and mean-looking in a subtle, European way. You know it’s a different breed of car, but you don’t know to what extent it can be fast.
The Ford Focus ST is indeed fast. It’s powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with 276 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque available at just 3,000 rpm. That makes this new ST the fastest and most powerful of its kind. A six-speed manual with rev-matching or are seven-speed automatic can be called upon to send the engine’s power to the front wheels.
A 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine is also available. Developing 187 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, it turns the ST into a very fuel-efficient pocket rocket with a punchy engine.
