New-Generation Ford Ranger Gets New Wildtrak X and Tremor Models

Ford Pro has taken the new Ranger’s off-road appeal to the next level.

  • The new Ford Ranger is already on sale in certain markets and is expected here later this year.

  • These new off-road versions are sure to be popular.

With its all-new Ranger, Ford aims for off-road enthusiasts with ultra-cool Wildtrak X and Tremor models. While these versions will be available to order now in certain markets, we’ll have to wait until later this spring to see what our new 2024 Ford Ranger will look like. In the meantime, we can hope that these two versions will come our way.

Rugged New Models Offer Best-in-Class Performance

The all-new Ranger Wildtrak X and Tremor models are built for serious off-roading. Both models feature a unique long travel suspension system with Bilstein dampers for superior ride comfort on rough terrain.

These trucks are especially gifted thanks to their latest off-road advancements. It features Trail Turn Assist, which employs torque vectoring via brakes to shorten the turning radius by up to 25% in tight turns. In a similar way to cruise control, Trail Control allows the driver to set a speed below 32 km/h, and the truck will independently manage acceleration and braking to maintain the specified speed while the driver focuses on navigating through challenging terrain. Previously featured only on the Ranger Raptor, the Rock Crawl mode optimizes throttle response, traction control, and gearshift schedule to achieve efficient and controlled passage over rocky and uneven landscapes.

These features make the new Wildtrak X and Tremor the most capable Rangers ever built by Ford Pro.

In addition to their robust performance capabilities, both models feature an updated exterior design that emphasizes their off-road capabilities.

The Wildtrak X’s bold look includes blacked-out detailing, such as the grille, wheel arch trim, and 17” alloy wheels which are wrapped with all-terrain tires for excellent grip in any environment.

The Tremor also shows nicely with a bold and adventurous appearance. It features a long-leg tubular sports bar, cast aluminium side steps, boulder Grey details, and a darkened grille.

Segment First Flexible Rack System

In addition to its rugged performance capabilities and stylish design, the new Wildtrak X and Tremor models offer one of the segment’s first Flexible Rack Systems (FRS). This innovative system makes it easier to carry ladders or kayaks above the load bed when needed while still freeing up space in the load bay for cargo–providing customers with increased versatility compared to traditional pickup trucks. The FRS can also be easily removed when not needed without tools or additional hardware–allowing customers to quickly switch between work mode and leisure mode depending on their needs at any given time.

For North America, Ford should be introducing the new 2024 Ranger in the next few months. For all intents and purposes, it should be nearly identical to the one we see here. And the market will welcome any and all hardcore versions including the Raptor.
