The GV70 SUV will slot below the GV80.
Genesis has been extremely busy these last 18 months.
We find out more on December 8th.
We feel like we’ve said this before, a few times in fact in 2020, but Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis is on fire. Seemingly overnight, they’ve revamped their entire lineup with, in a word, spectacular products, and they’re not done yet. The compact GV70 SUV is what’s next.
The coming of the GV70 was confirmed a while back and official details were revealed in late October. Genesis Worldwide has released a teaser video that shows a GV70 driving through mossy dunes and by the 10-second mark, we learn that December 8th is the day we’ll get to find out more about this potentially popular luxury SUV. This date, incidentally, coincides with the planned reveal of the new Acura MDX.
As a reminder, the GV70 will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that develops 252 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and either a rear-wheel drivetrain or optional AWD. A twin-turbo, 3.3L V6 with 365 hp and 376 lb.-ft. of torque should also be available in higher trim lines.
