New Honda Motocompacto is a Modern Retake on Urban Mobility

Innovative Foldable Design and Zero-Emissions Range Highlight the New Honda Motocompacto E-Scooter

Honda has unveiled its super-cool and all-new e-scooter, the Motocompacto, and we love it. Drawing inspiration from the Honda Motocompo of the early ’80s, this ultra-compact electric scooter will be available for purchase in November with an MSRP of $995 US. Consumers can find it either through Motocompacto.honda.com or at Honda and Acura automobile dealers.

With urban landscapes and college campuses in mind, the Motocompacto has been engineered for both comfort and convenience. Features include a digital speedometer, charge gauge, and secure grip foot pegs. The design also incorporates an accommodating seat and on-board storage, not to mention a comfortable carry handle. A dedicated phone app, connectable via Bluetooth, allows riders to adjust personal settings, including lighting and ride modes.

The scooter is built around a robust heat-treated aluminum frame and wheels, bright LED headlight and taillight, side reflectors, and a welded steel lock loop on the kickstand compatible with most bike locks.

Honda’s Motocompacto has a maximum speed of 15 mph (about 24 km/h) and provides a zero-emissions range of up to 12 miles (estimated 19km) on a full charge. Charging can be completed in just 3.5 hours using a common 110 v outlet, and the unit comes with an on-board charger that can be stowed away when not in use.

The truly amazing part about the e-scooter is its foldable design, created by Honda engineers in Ohio and California. Boasting 32 patents, the Motocompacto can be folded into its own lightweight 41.3-lb compact carrying case. This feature makes it convenient for users to transport the e-scooter in a vehicle, take it on public transportation, or store it in tight spaces.

On the customization front, the Motocompacto’s sleek and simple styling offers scope for personalization through decals, stickers, skins, and more. A range of branded accessories, such as helmets, backpacks, and apparel, will also be available.
