New Lexus Multimedia System Brings New Interface System

• Lexus will debut its enhanced Interface system on the 2026 ES sedan.

• Standard Drive Recorder uses exterior cameras to save onboard video clips.

• All-electric models gain charging schedules, EV routing and range planning tools.

Lexus will launch an enhanced version of its Lexus Interface multimedia system with the new 2026 ES, adding new customization options, embedded voice functions, navigation displays, charging tools, and entertainment features.

The updated system runs through the ES’s standard 14-inch touchscreen. The interface uses increased computing power to improve response times, while a redesigned home screen lets drivers arrange widgets for navigation, drive mode, audio, connected devices and weather.

A new Quick Control Menu sits in the upper-right corner of the screen. It provides access to common settings, including Bluetooth, brightness, and display modes, as well as shortcuts for configuring advanced driver assistance features. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.

The voice assistant gains embedded capability for faster responses. Drivers can use prompts such as “Hey Lexus,” “Hi Lexus,” or “Okay Lexus” to adjust audio, change climate settings, check estimated range, ask basic arithmetic questions, and much more.

For the first time in Lexus Interface, navigation can appear full screen on the multi-information display behind the steering wheel. The Cloud-based navigation, including real-time traffic and live destination assistance, requires an active Drive Connect connection.

The 2026 ES also comes with the Drive Recorder as a standard feature. The built-in system uses exterior cameras to record and store clips without adding a separate visible dashcam inside. It can save up to 90 one-minute continuous-loop recordings, along with manual and incident-triggered clips. Recordings include vehicle speed and location data, and can be viewed through the head unit or transferred to a USB flash drive.

The all-electric ES variants, including the ES 350e and ES 500e, receive new EV Charge Management Menu functions. Drivers can set charging schedules, charge limits and external power supply settings through the vehicle display. EV Routing and EV Range Map features can identify charging stations, charger levels, availability (where supported), and estimated battery levels at stops and at the destination. These functions also require Drive Connect.

Remote Connect subscribers can also use the Lexus app for charging management, remote lighting, trunk access, climate settings and scheduled starts. Digital Key functions can be managed through a compatible device’s wallet app and shared with up to five additional drivers.

Entertainment updates include SiriusXM with 360L, combining satellite and streaming content where available in Canada and the continental United States.
