  • Outlander PHEV gains larger battery, extending electric range and improving ride with suspension updates.

  • Eclipse Cross and RVR see trim changes; full pricing for all 2026 models to come.

Mitsubishi Canada has detailed its 2026 model year lineup, led by significant powertrain and design updates to its Outlander and Outlander PHEV SUVs. These changes and updates are part of the automaker’s Momentum 2030 business strategy, which commits to introducing new or revised vehicles in Canada each year through the end of the decade.

Outlander PHEV

The 2026 Outlander PHEV, recognized as Canada’s top-selling all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid SUV and Mitsubishi’s best seller, undergoes a second “mid-cycle” refresh since its launch for the 2022 model year. It includes a larger-capacity battery, netting an increased all-electric driving range, a revised suspension and tire specifications for a better driving experience.

Inside, the Outlander PHEV receives updated materials, improved sound insulation, and a redesigned centre console with extra armrest storage. New cupholders and a modified phone charging compartment are also part of the updates. Standard features include a 12.3-inch infotainment display paired with a Canadian-exclusive Yamaha Dynamic Sound audio system. Exterior revisions feature a restyled grille, new front and rear bumpers, darker tinted rear taillights, and new 18- and 20-inch wheel designs. The NOIR trim returns, offering additional cosmetic distinctions. The refreshed model is expected to arrive in Canada in the first quarter of 2026.

Outlander Hybrid

The gasoline-powered 2026 Outlander gains a new Mitsubishi-designed 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine combined with a hybridized system. This replaces the previous 2.5-litre engine, expected to deliver improved torque and fuel efficiency, particularly through electric torque assist during initial acceleration. The exterior and interior updates introduced with the 2025 refresh carry over, alongside the return of the NOIR edition. The 2026 Outlander is set to go on sale in Canada in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Eclipse Cross and RVR

Additional changes across Mitsubishi’s lineup include targeted updates to the Eclipse Cross and RVR. For 2026, the Eclipse Cross GT trim replaces navigation with a remote engine start function, while the NOIR edition receives a $1,500 price adjustment reflecting changes to its audio system and the removal of the sunroof. Canadian sales for the 2026 Eclipse Cross will begin this summer.

The 2026 RVR remains mechanically unchanged but introduces trim and feature adjustments to align with buyer expectations. All-Wheel Control is standard across the lineup, excluding the base ES front-wheel-drive model. Canadian availability is slated for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Mitsubishi plans to release full pricing and technical details for each model closer to their respective market launches.
