New Porsche 911 Speedster Priced at $275,000

The latest generation of the Porsche 911 Speedster is officially debuting in the Big Apple with a price tag that fits the city that surrounds its unveiling.

The new Porsche 911 Speedster will indeed cost just a tick over $275,000. That’s a lot of coin, but on the other hand only 1,948 units will be built and they are all spoken for. That means that if you wanted to risk Porsche never offering you a limited edition of any model ever again, you could theoretically sell it the minute you got it for a steep premium.

Despite the fact that this 911 Speedster’s run is almost three times as numerous as the previous Speedster, this generation is no less impressive. The car is an absolute beauty with its retro side-view mirrors and traditional rear seat cover bulges that reach all the way to the headrests.

Powering the Porsche 911 Speedster is a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter V8 coming directly from the Porsche 911 GT3. It produces 502 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque at a motorcycle-like 9,000 RPM. This is a car with some serious track cred.

A fabric top keeps you dry in the rain, although it has to be put in place manually. Of course, if you own a 911 Speedster, you also own other cars that you can take out when it rains.

Last but not least, Porsche 911 Speedster owners will get a limited edition Porsche Design watch.
