The TRX has a 702-horsepower supercharged 6.2-litre V8.
The next Raptor will get a 725-horsepower+ supercharged 5.2-litre V8.
These trucks are wide.
Just over a month ago, FCA and Ram unleashed what is currently the most powerful and hardcore full-size pickup in the world. The supercharged 702-horsepower TRX has its sights aimed squarely at the long-standing king, the Ford Raptor.
And from the images of the two parked side by side, comparisons between the two behemoths will be ongoing for quite a while. These pictures, shared by fordauthority.com and originally posted on Instagram, clearly demonstrate that the Ram TRX is more imposing. At least, that’s the case today.
Marginally longer, taller and wider, the TRX is also far more powerful. The supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8 produces 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. These numbers handily crush the Raptor’s 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque from its EcoBoost 3.5-litre V6. According to fordauthority, the next Ford Raptor will be optionally available with a supercharged 5.2-litre Predator V8 which should be good for 725- to 750 horsepower. The next step for Ram will be to launch a Demon version…
A new Ford Raptor may possibly arrive in a year’s time, or sooner, depending on Ford’s desire to reclaim its crown.
