Next-Generation BMW M2 Rendered

The possible saving grace of the next BMW 2 Series is that the M2 will probably not get the gapping grilles

  • Renderings based on leaked images of future new 2 Series.

  • The artist’s design could fool BMW employees.

Renders of future or modernized classic cars are a dime-a-dozen today. Most don’t deserve more than a glance however some occasionally make us stop for a moment and observe the artist’s work. This is the case with this rendering of a future G87 generation BMW M2.

Leaked images of the next-generation G42 BMW 2 Series have made the rounds on the web and it was these that served to inspire bmw43__ to draw up how the new M2 might turn out. Shared by, the biggest blessing is the obvious omission of the oversized grille as found on the new BMW M3 and M4 – we’re quite convinced BMW won’t put themselves through that again…

The front ¾ drawing represents exactly what the M2 should look like. The extremely deep front fascia with huge air inlets project the aggressive image the car deserves, as the smartly flared front and rear wheel arches. The rear, however, isn’t quite as convincing. The taillight pattern or design should be more horizontal and the overtly rounded rear quarter panels only make the car look like it has a wide butt. Lastly, the quad tailpipes are a must on the M2 and the rear spoiler should be different between it and the M240i.
